First drop of Henrik Vibskov - PANOPTICON AND ON - SS12 has finally arrived our Copenhagen and Oslo Boutiques.

Known through the Benthamian concept of a circular building that plays with observation and self-observation, the word Panopticon derives from the greek “panoptus“, meaning fully visible, all-embracing in a single view. Taken out of the context of strict surveillance and control it was originally intended for, the circular "Panopticon And On“ stage re-arranges and subverts elements of this structure.

The Panopticon is divided into four rooms: a toilet, a lounge, a garage and a bedroom. Each room is connected via a door that the models have to pass when walking through the stage - a 360° installation. When the stage starts turning, the doors stay fixed in their position, subverting the aspect of mobility. A dynamic and counterdynamic element at the same time, serving simultaneously as passage and source of stability, and reflecting the all encompassing aspect of the view.

The SS12 collection itself plays with details from 19th century artisans, miners and carpenters (murer series, mine series, vest and dot blouse and room jacket). Apart from these more clear references, we still work in a very free spirited frame of creativity. We react immediately to inspiration, and we allow the collection to be inspired by what we find interesting throughout our process, no matter what kind of concept or world it refers to. Among the inspirational elements of the collection are a long list of arty nonsensical mechanical objects, children's books illustrations, imagery from films like "Delicatessen" or "Clockwork orange", and Steve McQueen.

The first drop will next week also hit our Boutique in NEW YORK and ONLINE.

Stay tuned, more collections coming soon.
