Henrik Vibskov AW10: "The Slippery Spiral Situation"!

The Henrik Vibskov Studio about AW10: "The Slippery Spiral Situation":

"The installation and show is the final gathering and sums up the making of the season. One can see it like a still picture of a tornado hitting a playhouse, a moment of peacefulness in the middle of chaos, a pictures that can only be created in ones imagination, with the help of acid or special effects. A slipperly situation of your life goes into a spiral storm with backflash moments
."

This is the representation in textiles of this kind of mood through the filter that is Henrik Vibskov. Enjoy!

Nice interview with Walter Van Beriendonck from Dazed Digital.com

Not satisfied with being been known for inspiring and politicising fashion for nearly thirty years, or curating numerous exhibitions and publications that have seeded discourse on popular culture, Walter Van Beirendonck has also been heavily involved in the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Art course since the late 80s. As is sometimes the case with high profile figures attached to subsequently high profile university courses, Walter has much more than a remote connection to the Academy. He is far from a guest lecturer, and in 2007 became the head of the department.

Numerous forward thinking designers have studied under Walter at the Academy over the years including Bernhard Willhelm, Kris Van Assche, and Wim Neels. As we were interviewing him about his long-standing career for the September issue of Dazed & Confused, we decided to ask Walter to highlight a number of his current and recent students that you should definitely keep your eye on in the future. His selection of a few talented Antwerp students is Walter Van Beirendonck's own version of the Antwerp 6 in 2010. From today, and for the next five days, Dazed Digital will profile the students, giving you an insight into their inspiration and ambitions, plus images from their latest collections.

Personae 2/2010: Lokalt/Globalt

ANNTIAN: New brand in the Oslo store!

ANNTIAN AW10/11 "Walk the LIGHT"

From Anntians pressrelease:

AW10/11 collection "Walk the LIGHT" tells about walks that you do in the dark, at night. It's about illuminated windows that give moments of insight while passing them, about a light cone of a pocket lamp, about beaming spotlights wandering around, detecting, blinding, searching, finding, focusing. The collection, as a journey , a Walk of Senses, connects to daily surroundings, to spaces and places we're living in, to objects and structures.

All graphics and colors are handpainted or handprinted by ANNTIAN, which makes every piece unique and "abnormal". Of great importance to ANNTIAN is the closeness to the product, and it's regional manufacturers, so as the increasing usage of ecological fabrics and materials. The clothes are full of hidden details, conceptual authorised, differing and individual. Expressions of graphic elements and shapes are always based on the theme contents we're presenting within the collection.

Fields of inspiration:

In general we are fascinated by mistakes, errors, disharmonies and abnormalities, unusualities, uncommen things, defects etc. Nature is a very important field of inspiration on the one hand side - on the other there's the vanguards in the field of techniques that are of interest to us. As we recognize that our way of working is often constructivistic, we can say that we feel related to Constructivism in some ways. Also Architecture is always a great field to look at.
